I had the great fortune to spend 3 weeks at Spain’s Costa del Sol with my aunt and uncle, who lived there for several years. They graciously drove me all around southern Spain to marvel at many of Costa del Sol’s most famous sights, including quaint mountain villages, castles, national parks and nearby cities.

One day we visited Cordoba, Spain, where we explored the charming roads, markets and famous sights. The highlight of our trip was a visit to La Mezquita, where I wandered around the vast halls and rooms for several hours, awe-struck by the incredibly ornate, intricate detailing and the crazy blend of graceful Islamic architecture and the overly-elaborate Gothic Christian chapel artwork planted inside the mosque’s main prayer hall. The chapel was added several centuries after the main mosque was built.

From outside the plain fortress-like exterior, you’d never guess that such elaborate and extensive artwork graced the interior.

Come marvel at this amazing Cathedral-Mosque.
