I’m sooo excited and honored. My story ‘Tent Escapade’ has been selected as a ‘Best Narrative Travel Article’ by Barbara Weibel of Hole In The Donut cultural travel blog. Way back in February I submitted several stories to Barbara for her ongoing series. To my dismay I was informed that they weren’t even narrative writing! Oh. That was a smack. Talk about starting at square one. But I was quite bemused at my cock-sure attitude, certainly not offended. I was eager to learn and improve.
Barbara immediately took me under her wing and has been graciously mentoring my writing ever since. For my part, I’ve been wracking my brains, squeezing out excessive wording, hacking out my beloved- but very bad- exclamation points and persistently plodding along. End result: at long last I’ve made the cut. At least for this one story, but with many more to come, I certainly hope. Meanwhile please enjoy my little travel camping disaster tale. TENT ESCAPADE
Thanks for stopping by. cheers, Lash
